MARY JANE ANSELL

Mary Jane Ansell is a previous finalist in the prestigious BP Portrait Award in 2004 & 2009 & 2010, and has exhibited several times with the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and in The Threadneedle Prize. She is based in the UK but shows internationally with recent exhibitions in New York, Singapore and LA. Her work draws influences from a multitude of inspirations from 17th Century Dutch still-life to classical portraiture whilst her neo-realistic technique invokes the past and shows her continued interest in constructing intriguing narratives.
